The Pacific region
Archaeology work on the West Coast is driven largely by transportation, utility, port, water and renewable-energy projects, plus work on national forests and parks. California adds its own state environmental review (CEQA) on top of the federal Section 106 process, which keeps many private-sector CRM firms busy. Alaska and Hawaii, the other Pacific states, are covered separately under non-contiguous states.
Current openings in this group are in states including California, Washington and Oregon.
